You may be aware that Jeremy Hunt, Health and Social Care secretary, has confirmed a failure of IT dating back to 2009 which resulted in 450,000 women, who were between their 68th and 71st birthday, not being invited to their final breast screening.

NHS England will contact any patients affected by this issue will receive a letter by the end of May.

Those who are aged under 72 will automatically receive an invite for a catch-up screen

– Patients aged between 72 and 79 will also be sent information on how they can request a screening appointment through the national helpline

– All women affected who wish to have a breast screen will receive an appointment before the end of October 2018

– Women who have not received a letter by the end of May can be reassured they have not been affected by the incident

The Lambert Medical Centre is a rural 6 partner dispensing practice with a catchment radius of approximately 7 miles of Thirsk.

We dispense medication to patients who live more than a mile from the nearest chemists shop.

The surgery staff consists of 8 Doctors, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 8 Receptionists, 4 Dispensers, 4 Practice Nurses, 3 Healthcare Assistants, a Practice Manager and a Caretaker/Cleaner who lives on the premises.

We also offer a late night surgery one evening a week to provide appointments for working patients who are unable to during daytime surgery. The dates of this are displayed on the home page.

The practice provides a minor surgery service which can treat minor sprains, strains, eye problems, minor burns, insect and animal bites, splinters, cuts, stitches and minor head injuries (where there has been no loss of consciousness) Please try to avoid attending A&E unless there is a genuine accident or emergency.

Disabled Access - The practice consulting rooms are located on the ground floor and there is a disabled access toilet located on the ground floor. If you require a wheelchair whilst visiting the practice please ask at reception.

We have limited car parking available for patient use, please do not abuse this by leaving your car whilst you go shopping. There is car parking in the town centre a short walk away.
